A 1-0 win at home last weekend against Needham Market saw us move up to second in the Vanarama National League North table, and now we travel to sixth placed Alfreton Town.
The Opponents
The hosts for Saturday's clash see them in the playoff places with a game in hand on Hereford and ourselves.
Alfreton Town have been unbeaten in the league in their last nine games, winning four and drawing five.
The Red's top goalscorer this season is Jed Abbey, who has scored five goals this campaign.
Abbey's last goal came in a dramatic 2-1 win at home against Farsley Celtic, scoring in the 94th minute to score the winner.
Former Magpie, David Moyo is close behind Abbey with three goals and will look to add to his tally this Saturday.
Billy Whitehouse also signed for Ofton in the Summer of 2024, having moved on from the Magpies after three seasons with the club.
The Manager
Billy Heath is the man in charge of the Reds.
Heath had no playing career before taking charge of his first job in 2000 when he became the Bridlington manager.
The 53-year-old was in charge in 2006 at the club, where he had a successful story.
After the Bridlington job, Heath went to Frickley Athletic and North Ferriby United, where he spent ten years with both clubs.
What followed next was a two-year stint at Halifax Town, where he was in charge for 80 games before moving on to his current club, Alfreton Town.
Since 2017/18, Heath has been in charge of the Reds and has progressed the club in a positive direction, finishing fifth in their last two seasons.
Heath has guided his team to ten unbeaten games, including in cup competitions, so Saturday's test will be challenging for the Magpies.
A word from Preecy
“There’s no tougher test, particularly away in this league than at Alfreton Town. We all know what to expect from Billy and his side, a tough, combative battle where we’ll have to be right at it from the first whistle. We’ll relish the challenge and hope to be on the right side of the result this time around.”
