CHORLEY were the better team in an evenly contested 0-0 draw vs Spennymoor Town.

The Magpies dominated large portions of the game, but in the end will rue missed opportunities as they come away with just one point rather than a deserved three.

Opportunities for both Tom Carr and Tom Walker were well saved by Bobby Jones in goal for The Moors.

The first of those was in the 21st minute, when a Mark Ellis long ball was misjudged by Dan Jones in defence for the visitors, it fell to Carr who had his effort well saved by the keeper.

The second occurred after a Warren Clarke ball across goal was met by Mike Calveley, his effort came back off the post and eventually came to Tom Walker who had his effort punched away well by Bobby Jones.

Spennymoor had a couple chances of their own though, the best of which occurring in the 32nd minute, when captain Rob Ramshaw played Junior Mondal in behind, he teed up Cam Salkeld to his right who forced a good save from Matt Urwin down low at his front post.

Andy Preece’s side will now look ahead to Saturday’s trip away to Kidderminster Harriers.
