THE club can confirm this afternoon that an option has been taken to retain central midfielder, Joe Nolan, ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Local lad, Joe, has been with the club since initially signing on non-contract terms in 2022. The 23-year old made 38 appearances in our most recent campaign, missing a significant chunk of the season with a nasty ankle injury.
Joe has one goal to his name, coming against Boston United in 2023/24, across his 118 total appearances. Fit, fresh and ready for the upcoming season, Joe will undoubtedly play a big part in the Magpies' midfield in the season ahead.
Andy Preece had the following to say regarding Joe.
”Joe was in brilliant form before his injury. Probably the best form of his career, he was key to us being at the top of the league.
We definitely missed him for the period he was out injured.
He will be hungry to show that form again, it's exciting to see how he kicks on again next season.
It’s easy to forget he's still only 23.”
