CHORLEY FC are delighted to announce that Harvey Smith has put pen to paper on a new, long-term deal to extend his stay with the football club.
Harvey signed for the Magpies back in August 2020 from Championship outfit, Bristol City.
The 25-year old has been a mainstay in our defence throughout his time at the club, boasting 135 club appearances to date as well as 13 goals to boot. Harvey played 50 times in the 2023/24 season, scoring four goals - including a wicked strike against Alfreton Town back in January.
Harvey brings leadership, strength and tenacity to the table and has played out at right-back as well as showing plenty of goal-threat, particularly from set-pieces.
Manager Andy Preece had the following to say upon completing the deal.
"I'm really pleased to have gotten this deal over the line with Harvey to retain him for the season ahead. Harvey has been brilliant with us over many years, a real rock at the back and it goes without saying - 50 appearances last season just goes to show how valuable he is to us and our success in defence.
Harvey has gone from strength to strength with us and I've no doubt he will continue to do so and contribute ten-fold to our squad in his hard work both on and off the pitch, it was a no-brainer to keep him here with us."
