THE club can confirm this afternoon that Tyler Chester has put pen to paper on a first-team contract with the Magpies.
Tyler, 18, a tenacious and battling defender has risen through the youth ranks with the Magpies, and come on leaps and bounds of late.
Another member of our squad who has played a part in our title-winning success with the Steven Gerrard Academy in the 2024/25 season, Tyler has senior football experience, having played in the North West Counties with Kendal Town and Holker Old Boys.
Andy Preece had the following to say regarding Tyler.
"Tyler has been a consistent performer over the last two years with the scholars.
He's improved each year and fully deserved his opportunity. He's already had experience in the North West Counties with Kendal Town and Holker Old Boys.
He's our fourth scholar player to come through and sign for the first team squad this season. All four were part of the team that won the league last season."
We hope you will join us in looking forward to seeing more of Tyler in the famous black and white shirt!
