THE club can confirm this afternoon that an option has been taken to retain central defender, Harvey Smith, ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Harvey, a commanding defender has been with the club since August 2020. The 26-year old endured a frustrating campaign in 2024/25, hampered with a head injury issue, involving vertigo, but, has now been given the all clear following a brain scan.
The Bristolian has made 164 appearances in total to date as a Magpie, scoring 13 times. Harvey made 29 appearances in our most recent campaign.
Andy Preece had the following to say regarding Harvey.
”Harvey has been one of our most consistent performers over the last few seasons.
He was in great form before his dizziness around the New Year.
He leads by example on the pitch and is just reaching his peak in terms of ability.
He has had a clean bill of health which will give him even more confidence going into next season.”
