CHORLEY were left stunned and had to settle for a point after Connor Woods bagged a last-gasp penalty, right at the death for Paul Carden’s side to see the game finish 1-1.
The opening phases of the game started slowly, with both teams settling into a rhythm early on.
However, it would be the Magpies who created the more promising chances early on in the game.
In the 20th minute, George Horbury had a chance to put the Magpies in front. The midfielder beat the defender before striking it hard and low, but Daniel Atherton was equal to it.
Four minutes later, Warren Clarke hit the post. The winger struck the ball well and beat Atherton, but the post was there to save the Town keeper.
Not far from half-time, the Magpies had an effort headed off the line by Andy White.
Joe Nolan's curling effort beat everyone bar the well-positioned fullback to deny Chorley going ahead into the break.
Just before the interval, Warrington Town were calling for a penalty after Matthew McDonald had gone down in the box. Kavan Hurn, the referee, thought otherwise and booked the attacker for simulation.
The second half started better than the first, as Kole Hall won a free kick just on the edge of the box.
Hewitt would take it and whip it over the wall and, unfortunately, the bar.
However, the Magpies were down to ten in the 60th minute when Nolan was sent off for a second yellow card.
Not long after Chorley were down to ten, the Magpies would bounce back with a goal.
Pressure from Hall forced a poor back pass across goal, which saw Hewitt slide in to give us a deserved lead.

In the 67th minute, Matt Urwin would be forced into action and made a magnificent one-on-one save to deny Joe Rodwell-Grant.
From then on, the Magpies would defend well and have good organisation at the back to prevent any clear-cut chances for the visitors.
However, in the 98th minute it would be heartbreak as the visitors got a penalty.
Connor Woods would score the all-important penalty in the 99th minute to deny the Magpies a well-deserved three points.
