THE MAGPIES fought back to earn a respectable 1-1 draw against league one side Carlisle United on Tuesday night.
Chorley started well with good attacking intent and had chances to open the scoring early on, Jack Sampson almost catching Daniel Langley out with an audacious lob from distance.

Carlisle eventually took the lead before the break, Taylor Charters slipping in Jayden Harris after the Magpies were left wide open in defence – the latter slamming home first fine past Matt Urwin.
The Magpies had a chance to get back on terms quickly after the restart, Sampson from 12-yards after Joe Garner was adjudged to have handled inside the area. Unfortunately, the former saw his spot-kick smash against the crossbar and the score remained 0-1.
Chorley didn’t have to wait long after to get back on terms though, Justin Johnson the one to get on the scoresheet – placing one smartly past Langley after beating two defenders down the left.
Our passing and our movement was good – a big improvement and defensively strong second-half, Matt (Urwin) hasn’t had a lot to do.” –Andy Preece
