CHORLEY advance through to the fourth round of the FA Trophy after goals from Mike Calveley and Jack Sampson on Saturday afternoon were enough to see off Blyth Spartans at the Chorley Group Victory Park Stadium.
The two teams faced-off against each other in league action last month, with the game ending in a 1-1 draw and this game started off in a similar fashion with both teams struggling to really stamp their authority in the early exchanges.
Chorley then began to grow into the game and after a brilliant move by Justin Johnson, his cross found Jack Sampson who then saw his effort saved brilliantly by Michael Hogan in goal.
The Magpies didn't have to wait any longer to get the opening goal though, the resulting corner ending up in a goalmouth scramble that MIKE CALVELEY finished off smartly - this time, leaving Hogan with no chance between the sticks.

Blyth's best chance of the first half came from Will McGowan who was inside the penalty box after he was played in by Mikael Ndjoli but the former smashed it over the bar.
Graham Fenton's side came out after the restart with work to do and had a free header which went wide but it was the Magpies who added to their lead when in the 53rd minute JACK SAMPSON headed home after an excellent delivery from Jack Hazlehurst to find him.
Blyth had no real response to going two goals behind and ultimately were second best, Chorley securing their spot in the fourth round and another clean sheet in the process - their fourth in a row.
