TWO goals on Saturday weren't enough for the Magpies to take all three points, as Scunthorpe United came from behind twice to take a point on the road.

Once again, the Magpies are at home, this time hosting Oxford City this Tuesday.

The last time Chorley faced the Hoops was back in August when it would end 2-2 after Andy Preece's side came back from 2-0 down to secure an important point thanks to goals from

This time around, the Magpies will be looking to get all three points.

The Opponents

Oxford City come into this one with plenty of confidence, with just one defeat in their last five games. With three wins, one draw and one defeat, they will be coming to the Grant Store Victory Park Stadium with confidence.

From being near the drop, the Hoops have clawed their way up to 18th in the league table and will be looking to close the gap to Southport on Tuesday.

As for the club's top goalscorers, Corie Andrews leads the way with eight goals so far, and attacking midfielder Zac McEachran is following close behind with six.

McEachran leads the way on the assists charts so far this season with five, with centre-forward Josh Parker close behind on four and Lewis Coyle.

The Hoops certainly have plenty of threats in their attacking options, with Andrews, McEachran, and Parker being the three big threats that the Magpies will have to deal with.

The Manager

Sam Cox is no longer the man in charge of the Hoops. Getting sacked back in September, Oxford City have a new man in the dugout.

Ross Jenkins has returned to the club to lead them back in the right direction.

Jenkins has a proud history at the club. He guided the Hoops to the National League for the first time in their history.

In addition, the 34-year-old helped achieve back-to-back play-off campaigns in the National League South and also reached the first round of the FA Cup.

With someone new in the dugout since the last time the two teams faced, it will be a new challenge for Chorley, and with the way Jenkins has got his team playing, they will know they have a chance here.

A word from Preecy

“Another game in our tight schedule, our third home game in quick succession and one we are looking to build up our momentum on, towards the top of the table. Oxford will pose a threat, I said earlier in the season they play far better than their league position suggests and we’ll have to be on it from minute one to get a win here.”
