AFTER last week's opening day win away at Peterborough Sports, we now look forward to opening home game of the domestic campaign as we welcome Hereford FC to the Grant Store Victory Park Stadium.

Momodou Touray's coolly taken second-half penalty proved to be the difference at PIMS Park last week and the 25-year-old will be looking to get one over the Bulls this time around, having spent a spell on loan with them in 2022.

The Opponents

Hereford comes into this weekend's game with plenty of confidence, scoring three and keeping a clean sheet against South Shields last Saturday.

The Bulls also had three different goalscorers: Montel Gibson, Andrew Williams and Yusifu Cessay.

However, South Shields weren't without their fair share chances in the game. Still, Hereford were clinical in front of goal and punished Elliot Dickman's side.

Furthermore, with a positive start to the season, the Bulls will want to build upon last season after finishing 11th in the table. Paul Caddis and his team will be looking to move up the National League North and challenge for the playoffs.

Forward Montel Gibson will be a player to watch this weekend. The 26-year-old is a tricky customer. He got the opening goal last weekend and will be coming to Chorley full of confidence.

The Manager

Paul Caddis is still fairly new to management. The former Birmingham defender joined the Bulls last season, which became his first managerial role in charge of the first team. He did gain experience elsewhere at Fleetwood Town as an academy coach.

Before retiring from football in 2021, Caddis played for several clubs, including Celtic, Dundee United, Swindon Town, Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers, Bury, and Bradford City.

Managers are only getting younger with fresh ideas, so Paul Caddis's inexperience as a manager is sure to be made up in his football career.

A word from Preecy

“They have added to their squad and are a very good team, one of the best that we played last season no doubt. Their manager has done a tremendous job. I expect Hereford to be right up there this season so it’s going to be a real test for us.”
