CHORLEY FC are delighted to announce that Mike Calveley has put pen to paper on a new, long-term deal to extend his stay with the football club.

Mike signed for the Magpies back in July 2020 after leaving fellow National League North side, Curzon Ashton and has made 144 competitive appearances to date.

The 24-year old has scored 13 goals for the club from midfield, six of those coming from 2023-24 alone - the box-to-box midfielder has enjoyed a great period of scoring recently and manager Andy Preece had this to say upon completing the deal.

"I'm absolutely over the moon to have got this deal sorted with Mike. He's been absolutely brilliant from the minute he was brought in by Vermo and I think it's fair to say he's a bit of an unsung hero within our midfield, he works so hard and this season he's chipped in brilliantly with a few goals as well. Mike works tirelessly for the team and it's a big statement from us and a reward to him to have gotten this deal over the line." -Andy Preece.

Mike will of course be available in our squad to take on Alfreton Town next Saturday as the Magpies look to get 2024 off to a winning start.

Congratulations Mike - we look forward to seeing an awful lot more of you in a Chorley shirt!
