Football Without Limits: Chorley FC Partners with Deaf Village North West
Chorley FC held an introductory training session this week with Deaf Village North West, a Deaf-led organisation dedicated to promoting inclusivity and demonstrating that deaf individuals can achieve anything they want to. This event, organised by the Chorley FC Community Foundation, took place at Westway Sports Pitches and marked the beginning of what is hoped to be a lasting relationship with the local deaf community.
Andy Preece, alongside Adam Henley and CFC Foundation Coach Finn McClelland, spent an hour with the group. They focused on football skills and learned various pieces of sign language to communicate more effectively with deaf players.

"We are delighted to work with Deaf Village North West," said Andy Preece. "This session was a fantastic opportunity for us to learn and ensure that everyone feels included and valued within our team."
The Chorley FC Community Foundation is committed to creating strong connections between the club and the local community, making football accessible to all. This initiative is part of their ongoing efforts to foster inclusivity and support diverse groups.
"This is just the start of what we know will be a meaningful relationship," said Chorley FC Community Foundation Chair Darren Jenkinson. "We are always keen to explore further ways to ensure everyone has access to sport, and with the expertise of The Deaf Village we have big plans to remove any boundaries and set a positive example for other clubs to follow.
