WITH the 2022/23 season now at an end we’re in a position to offer the first squad update of the summer.
We’re saying goodbye and thank you to the following players..
Niall during a friendly with Bacup (Stefan Willoughby)
Niall Moran The 20-year-old central defender signed his first senior contract in 2021 after playing for the Education Programme team and has since enjoyed loan spells with Ashton Athletic, Workington & Glossop North End.
Niall came through our scholarship programme and had good loan spells with Workington and Glossop North End this season. He is now ready for regular first team football at a good level. A great lad who has been an example to others and a credit to the Scholarship Programme and the football club – Andy Preece
Nathan in pre-season action (Stefan Willoughby)
Nathan Okome The 22-year-old midfielder signed after a successful trial in May 2021 and went on to make 12 first team appearances, as well as enjoying loan spells with Matlock Town, Witton Albion, Glossop North End and Nantwich Town.
Nathan struggled to establish himself in the first team due to the quality of players ahead of him in our squad. I’m sure he’ll receive a number of good offers over the summer after his successful loan spells at Witton and Nantwich. We wish him well for the future – Andy Preece
Jack Price in action at Charnock Richard (Stefan Willoughby)
Jack Price The 21-year-old forward joined us in 2021 and excelled in the under-21s as well during loan spells at Padiham, where he played over 40 times this season, scoring 10 goals.
Jack spent this season on loan at Padiham where he did well. He now feels it’s time to settle somewhere and build a career. I’ve not doubt he’ll have a successful career in football going forward and he leaves with our best wishes – Andy Preece
