CHORLEY fought valiantly in a 0-0 draw against Scarborough Athletic.

In game that lacked many clear-cut opportunities, Andy Preece’s were good value for their point picked up on the road.

The best chance of the game would fall for the Magpies in the 85th minute, a superb cross by Adam Blakeman to the back post was met by Jack Sampson in the air, and he would force a smart save out of Scarborough goalkeeper Ryan Whitley to keep the sides level.

Elsewhere there were attempts from the edge of the box by the likes of Warren Clarke and Taelor O’Kane, but they were all comfortable in the end for The Seadogs keeper to save.

Scarborough had a half-chance of their own in the first half, when Rio Allan broke down the right flank, he cut inside and shot, put it was parried away by Matt Urwin in the Chorley goal, despite a nasty bounce on the ball just before he met it.

Chorley will now switch their attention to Tuesday evening’s fixture away to Alfreton Town.
