CHORLEY succumbed to a 2-0 defeat away to Bedford Town in the Enterprise National League North.
Goals from Josh Castiliogne and substitute Carl Mensah were enough for the Eagles to take all three points at the Eyrie Stadium in what was a largely uneventful game.
The hosts took the lead in the 29th minute, a cross into the box was not dealt with by the Magpie backline and the ball fell kindly Castiliogne who finished past Matt Urwin down low at the near post.
Bedford’s second would come in the 70th minute, when a Joe Payne long throw was not fully cleared by Chorley, and the ball would eventually come to substitute Carl Mensah who finish well, going across goal into the bottom right corner.
As for Andy Preece’s side, the closest they came to scoring came from an Adam Blakeman freekick in the 59th minute, Richard Ashmore in The Eagles goal did excellently to tip the effort over the bar, as it looked destined to nestle into the top corner.
Owen German also came close just two minutes into the game, the midfielder on loan from Altrincham saw his volley from the edge of the box whistle just past the post.
The fixtures do not let up for Chorley though as they will now turn their attention to Tuesday evening’s game away to Spennymoor Town.
