CHORLEY came away with a well-deserved point away at AFC Telford United with a 2-2 draw on Tuesday evening.
Second half goals by Taelor O’Kane and Milan Lalkovic cancelled out the first half double from Dylan Allen-Hadley for The Bucks.
In a real entertaining game, it was the hosts that got the scoring underway in the 22nd minute, when a Lalkovic pass was dispossessed in the middle of the pitch, and Allen-Hadley was played in behind, he had too much pace for Mark Ellis and showed great composure to slot his effort past Matt Urwin in goal.
Their second would arrive 13 minutes later, when a long ball was missed in the air by Ellis, and Allen-Hadly once again would run through on goal, he was too quick for Harvey Smith this time and once again slotted his effort past Urwin.
Andy Preece’s Magpies would start the second half as the much better side though and on 58 minutes they halved the deficit, a Blakeman corner was not dealt with at all by the hosts and O’Kane’s effort on the turn flew into the top corner, a great finish.
About 10 minutes later, Lalkovic bearing down on goal in the box was brought down by Jordan Cranston, who may have been fortunate to only come away with a yellow card rather than a red.
Nevertheless, Lalkovic stepped up to take his penalty and sent Josh Gracey the wrong way before slotting his spot kick down the middle.
Chorley though would press on looking for a winner, and on 77 minutes their best chance for a third goal came, when a Blakeman corner found Ellis unmarked and completely free in the box, he met it on the volley, and it went just narrowly wide hitting the side netting.
Telford would have a chance of their own to clinch the three points deep into injury time when substitute James Armson had a free header in the box following a corner, his effort flying narrowly over the crossbar.
The Magpies will now switch their attention to Saturday’s trip away to Bedford Town at the Eyrie Stadium.
