A win and a draw from the opening two games of the season, the Magpies will be looking to extend their unbeaten run when they take on Scarborough Athletic at the Grant Store Victory Park Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Adam Blakeman, the man of the match in Saturday's game, will be looking to add to his goal tally after putting the Magpies in front against the Bulls. Matt Urwin turned out to be the hero on the day, saving Andy Williams's late penalty after Ackeem Rose levelled up for the visitors.

The Opponents

Scarborough Athletic have had a rather enthralling opening two fixtures, scoring six goals in the league so far with a thrilling 3-3 draw on the opening day against newly promoted Radcliffe.

The visitors for Tuesday's game then hosted Rushall Olympic, where they put three past the Pics.

So, like the Magpies, the visitors are unbeaten and full of confidence, knowing they can score goals.

Furthermore, Dom Tear has had a brilliant start to the season. The winger scored a hat trick on the opening day and added another on Saturday against the Pics.

The young winger is currently the top goal scorer in the division and will undoubtedly be one to watch this Tuesday.

We will also welcome back Kieran Glynn to the Grant Store Victory Park Stadium, Glynny, made 15 league appearances on loan with the Magpies last season.

The Manager

Jonathan Greening had a very successful playing career. He started at York City before moving to Manchester United, where he made 14 appearances for the Red Devils.

Furthermore, the former midfielder played at clubs such as Fulham, Middlesbrough, West Brom, Nottingham Forrest, Barnsley and Tadcaster Albion.

Greening took the Seadogs job back in 2021. In his first season as head coach, he led the club to promotion from the Northern Premier League and won the North Riding Senior Cup.

Since then, he has led Boro to an impressive eighth-place finish in the National League North in the 2022/23 season.

After a bright start to this season, Greening will be looking to build upon such a positive start this Tuesday at the Grant Store Victory Park Stadium.

A word from Preecy

“I expect this to be our toughest test of the season so far. Scarborough have added real quality to their squad and we're going to have to be at our best with plenty of support behind us to get a result here."
