A warm welcome to our newest recruit of the summer, Mark Ellis, who joins us on a free transfer on a deal that runs through to the end of the 2023/24 season.
The 34-year old got his first taste of what to expect at Victory Park last night, coming on as a trialist substitute in the 1-1 draw against League One side Carlisle United.
“We have tracked Mark for the last few years knowing we’d be lucky if he was to drop to our level. A lot of work has gone in previously so when Mark was available we were ready with an offer. Mark was keen to come to us and the deal was done straight away. Losing Scotty was a huge blow so to get someone of Mark’s experience and quality is a massive coup for us. His record speaks for itself he will add that experience, leadership and know how to a relatively young squad.“ – Andy Preece
Last season, the defender spent the first-half of the campaign on loan at Torquay United before moving on to York City from February onwards – making 23 league appearances all in all.
Mark joins us with a wealth of EFL experience under his belt from his time at the likes of Torquay United, Crewe Alexandra, Shrewsbury Town, Carlisle United and of course, Barrow – his previous club.
Welcome to Chorley FC, Mark!
