WE’RE back at home, this Tuesday - under the lights to take on South Shields in the Vanarama National League North.

The Magpies fell to defeat on their travels last time out away at Rushall Olympic.

Ollie Shenton goes for goal against Rushall Olympic (David Airey)

"It's a poor performance by us, no excuses - Rushall were much the better team, credit to them, fair play, they played really well today but we started the game poorly, first 20 minutes we didn't get started and struggled to get into it." - Andy Preece

South Shields were promoted into the Vanarama National League North via the Northern Premier League Premier Division - topping the table with 85 points, eight clear of Warrington Town in second place.

Julio Arca's side have started from where they left off in 2022/23, only one point off league leaders Tamworth with 25 points from their opening 13 games.

Paul Blackett and Aaron Martin (six each) are the current top goalscorers for The Mariners, they too are the highest scoring team (26) so far for the campaign.
