CHORLEY are back in National League North action this weekend, hosting newly promoted Bedford Town at the Grant Store Victory Park Stadium this Saturday.
The Eagles are currently level on points with Andy Preece’s side, who sit one place above Lee Bircham’s side on goal difference with a four goal swing.
Last Time Out
Milan Lalkovic scored in each half, the first a superb strike into the top corner and the second coming from a rebound after Tom Carr’s penalty struck the post.
Worksop hit back quickly each time. Scott Wilson turned a cross into his own net moments after the opener, and Luke Waterfall levelled again midway through the second half.
With the game heading towards full-time, the visitors completed their comeback when substitute Chae Whitman-Brown converted Lewis Whitham’s cross to seal their place in the next round.
Opposition Focus
The Eagles come into this game off the back of an FA Trophy defeat to Anstey Nomads, who beat them on penalties following a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes.
Their last game in the league was a comprehensive 3-0 home win against Buxton.
Bedford Town are led by their manager Lee Bircham.
Their squad includes start-studded striker Tyrone Marsh (15 goals), as well as the experienced Greg Taylor, formerly of King’s Lynn Town.
Head-to-Head
This will be the first meeting between the two sides.
