CHORLEY make the long trip to Bedfordshire this weekend as they look to continue their strong run of form in the Enterprise National League North.
The Magpies come into the contest with confidence having fought back from 2-0 down at AFC Telford United to secure a valuable point on the road on Tuesday night.
Bedford Town, meanwhile, fell to a 7-1 defeat at Penydarren Park last Saturday, against high-flying Merthyr Town.
Last Time Out
Andy Preece’s side had Taelor O’Kane and Milan Lalkovic to thank, their second-half goals good enough to bring Chorley back from a two-goal deficit to draw away at AFC Telford United on Tuesday.
O’Kane’s first goal for the club came from a set-piece that the hosts failed to clear, the on-loan midfielder rifling home the rebound from close range.
Lalkovic then ensured the Magpies came away with a share of the spoils, converting from 12-yards having been brought down recklessly by Jordan Cranston.
Opposition Focus
Bedford Town have proven to be a competitive outfit this season and have shown resilience on home soil.
The Eagles have mixed results in recent weeks but remain capable of troubling any side in the division. Lee Bircham’s side come into this one off of a tough result and thus will be looking to bounce back from it.
They will look to start quickly in front of their supporters and test Chorley’s backline early on. Veteran striker Tyrone Marsh is one of the best forwards division on his day.
With plenty still to play for as the season edges towards its final months, Bedford will view this as an opportunity to claim a statement result against a Chorley side who have momentum at the moment.
Head-to-Head
The reverse fixture earlier in the campaign saw Chorley come out on top at Victory Park in a competitive encounter.
Chorley controlled large spells of possession that afternoon and took their chances clinically to secure all three points.
