WE are taking a look at the new sides entering the Enterprise National League North for the 2026/27 season. Up next, we are headed to Staffordshire.

Hednesford Town will face Chorley next season for the first time since the 2015/16 campaign in the Conference North as it was at the time.

Known as The Pitmen, they are led by manager Kelvin Davis, Hednesford have had an extraordinary couple of years since their takeover in March 2024, which has subsequently seen the club achieve back-to-back promotions, resulting in them being in the National League North next season.

During the whirlwind of the past few seasons, The Pitmen also became the second side ever in FA Cup history to have made it from the extra preliminary round to the first round proper – they completed this feat in the 2024/25 campaign.

Last season ended dramatically for Hednesford as they would gain promotion via the playoffs by defeating Warrington Rylands via a penalty shootout in the final – a major success in particular for the club’s owners, who had sacked previous manager Gavin Hurren in February whilst the club were joint top of the league in favour of Kelvin Davis.

It will be a first trip for the Magpie faithful to Keys Park since February 2016 when we face The Pitmen this season.
