CHORLEY FC are delighted to announce that first-team manager Andy Preece, has today signed a new, long-term contract, to prolong his stay with the Magpies and further cement his commitment with the football club.
"Preecy", is now into his seventh year with Chorley, having been Jamie Vermiglio's assistant manager as well as playing a key role as our Director of Football.
Having been appointed as first-team manager, Preecy has gone from strength to strength in the role, managing a total of 95 domestic, Vanarama National League North games for the club.
In his first season, the Magpies narrowly missed out on the play-offs on the final day, going from as high as fourth to finishing 12th after a late, heart-breaking defeat at Gloucester City.
Last time out, of course, Chorley finished the regular season in fourth place, an unbelievable achievement for all involved. Of course, you'll all remember the heroics of our penalty shootout in the play-off eliminator against Curzon Ashton, before ultimately, falling just short with a 1-0 semi-final defeat at Brackley back in April.
Preecy had the following to say in light of the news, "It's great to have signed a new contract, it's a nice feeling that the club recognise that I'm doing a decent job and they want to keep me here. I'm grateful for the opportunity and I've said that before, getting an opportunity here to manage this club was something that had gone by... I'm thankful to the club for giving me that opportunity in the first place and thankfully I've rewarded them with a couple of really good seasons..."
A delighted Andy Preece alongside our Chief Executive, Terry Robinson (Pete Tscherewik)
