REPORT: Chorley 2-1 Scarborough Athletic
The Magpies come from behind to beat the Seadogs...
CHORLEY came from behind to win 2-1 against Scarborough Athletic.
Goals from Harvey Smith and Mike Calveley cancelled out Rio Allan’s opener as Andy Preece’s side took all three points on Saturday afternoon.
The Seadogs took the lead in the 59th minute, after Mo Fadera slipped Allan in behind and he finished well into the bottom right corner.
Chorley equalised just six minutes later through Smith, following a long free kick by Adam Blakeman, the ball eventually fell to the feet of the defender who rifled his effort low into the bottom corner.
The winner for Chorley then came in the 81st minute, a Blakeman corner met the head of Calveley, and the skipper made no mistake finding the back of the net.
Li-Bau Stowell made a good save late on to prevent Dom Tear from equalising the visitors, low down to his near post.
As for the Magpies, their attention will now turn to next weekend’s fixture away to Merthyr Town.
Chorley: Stowell, Moore (Henley 87’), Hunt, Smith, Blakeman, Fielding, Rowe, Calveley, Bala (Bird 90+1’), Hazlehurst (Popoola 74’), Taylor (Salmon 80’).
