CHORLEY FC are delighted to confirm that Momodou Touray has signed on with the Magpies following his recent departure from Northern Premier League side, Warrington Rylands.
Momodou came through the Newport County academy having initially started out in Futsal before signing a professional contract with them back in April 2018. The 24-year old had a fruitful season with Welsh Premier League side, Barry Town United in 2018/19 - scoring 13 goals in 31 appearances.
A forward player who can play across the frontline, Momodou then made the move into England with Salford City with spells then following at Marine, Bath City and Hereford.
Momodou had an exceptional 2023/24 season at Warrington Rylands, 18 goals and 12 assists (30 goal contributions) in 40 appearances.
Manager, Andy Preece, had the following to say upon completion of the deal.
"Momodou is a player I’ve tracked over the past few seasons.
A strong, powerful forward who has an eye for goal. He had a very good season at Warrington Rylands where he’s started to realise the potential I’ve seen in him.
He wants to improve and kick on again, he has all the tools to do so.
Momodou can play in a number of forward positions and will compliment the other strikers at the club.
Another lad who had options elsewhere but wanted to be a Magpie, these are the type of lads you want to play for you."
