WE'RE thrilled to announce the signing of Max Hunt, who joins having recently left Alfreton Town.
Max, a six foot six, 27-year old central defender, brings a wealth of National League North experience to the table and has also played at a higher level, too.
Hunt began his youth career as a footballer at Nottingham Forest, before moving on to the academy of Mansfield Town.
In terms of clubs, at senior level, he has played for Aldershot Town (on loan from Derby County), where he actually played against Chorley in that season.
Carlisle United, Yeovil Town (loan), Buxton, and Alfreton Town complete his CV. Max did also score, for Buxton, against the Magpies a few years ago.
Manager Andy Preece had the following to say having secured his services.
"Max is a player that I've watched for a few years at Buxton and Alfreton Town. He is dominant in the air and composed on the ball, he's been a player I felt could play higher up the pyramid.
He will compliment our other defenders as he can play all across the back line. I'm delighted to make him our first signing.
He is another leader who is just reaching his prime years."
