CHORLEY FC were delighted to welcome Boyzone (members, Shane Lynch & Keith Duffy) along with Westlife member Brian McFadden to the Chorley Group Victory Park Stadium yesterday afternoon as the Magpies took on Solihull Moors in the fifth round of the Isuzu FA Trophy.
The Magpies fell to an unfortunate 1-3 defeat on the day on what was a momentous day and occasion for everybody involved with the football club both on and off the pitch.
We welcomed a crowd of over 2,000 to the Chorley Group Victory Park Stadium for the first time this season in a competitive fixture and it's fair to say the media flocked over from all over for the day as well.
This week, the news about the connection between Boyzone and Chorley FC has gone viral and has gripped the media within the UK, the Republic of Ireland and even further afield. In attendance on Saturday were camera crews from the likes of Sky Sports, the BBC, and ITV - just to name a few.
At Chorley, we know this is only the start of what is an extremely exciting time for the football club and hope you will continue to join us on this journey in what still remains a New Era for the football club.
Thank you for your continued support, let's carry it into Tuesday's fixture against Spennymoor Town and further beyond that... COME ON YOU MAGPIES!
