Words: Ken Wright (Chairman), Graham Watkinson (Secretary) & Terry Robinson (Chief Executive)
WE’D like to begin this update by wishing all our supporters and sponsors well during these difficult and unprecedented times.
We know football isn’t at the forefront of everyone’s minds at the moment, but we wanted to share a quick update so you’re all aware of where we’re at as a club, one month on from our temporary hibernation.
Operations at Victory Park are currently in semi-shutdown mode – staff have been furloughed and no executives are being paid – but we are in regular contact with the National League as we continue to work towards a viable end to the 2019/20 season. As we look at ways to bridge the gap in revenue we’ve begun offering options for next season while thanking all our brilliant backers for their support this campaign.
We are aware, as a small business ourselves, that many of our sponsors will be in a battle to survive and understand your own companies are a priority. What we started asking current sponsors last week was if you are able to support the Club through a pitchside board renewal or purchasing a 200 Club ticket (or both for just £600+VAT) don’t hesitate to get in touch (email@example.com). Every bit of backing we receive is huge at the moment.
When we launched the 200 Club at the end of February the idea was to hold the Gala Dinner & Prize Draw last Friday, before the final home game of the season against Maidenhead. Obviously, the dinner and draw weren’t able to take place. However, the 200 Club is now an even bigger part of our funding plan going forward. The dinner and draw will still be taking place and all prizes on offer remain the same (full details).
As well as reaching out to the business community we’re now asking individual supporters for a bit of help too.
We’ve set up a Crowdfunder to raise extra revenue to see us through this difficult time. If every one of our supporters pledged a fiver it would make a massive difference once we’re out the other side of the coronavirus lockdown.
A football club in the heart of Chorley will always be worth supporting. Together we will pull through and be back on the pitch representing the town and community.
