CHORLEY FC host Hartlepool United this weekend in the Vanarama National League and in a bid to help local children’s charity Inspire, the Club have teamed up with the Chorley Youth Zone to raise awareness within the local community.

Young members, volunteers and staff from the Youth Zone will be attending the home fixture in a ‘takeover day’ while giving a number of young fans who play football at the centre the chance to walk out onto the pitch at Victory Park alongside the club’s players. Young people from the Youth Zone will also be providing entertainment in the form of dance group and Royal Albert Hall finalists ‘IYZ On Fleek’.

The ‘takeover day’, dubbed Inspire Day 2019, will see the relationship between Chorley FC and Inspire Youth Zone strengthen further as the children’s charity continues to establish itself as an important pillar of the community in Chorley.

We’ve worked closely with Inspire since they opened last year, and our relationship is without question growing stronger. I can’t wait to welcome the team to our fixture at the weekend and hope they become future Magpie fans and come back to see us at Victory Park throughout the season.

From our point of view, it’s great to work with such an inspirational charity and you can certainly see the difference the organisation has made to young people’s lives over the last year. There are plenty of facilities in the building including an indoor football pitch, music production studio, gym, climbing wall from our new sponsors Entre-Prises, art room plus many other things to get involved with.

This is without question such an important partnership and the organisation play’s a pivotal part in people’s lives within the Chorley community. The place itself is nothing short of remarkable, providing a fun and safe environment where young people can come and enjoy themselves which enables them to raise their aspirations and confidence to create a happier and healthier generationJosh Vosper (Commercial Manager, Chorley FC)

Chorley FC Community Foundation have provided in-depth football sessions at the Youth Zone in the past and first team players such as play-off hero Matt Urwin have visited the centre to see the amazing work carried out by Inspire’s Youth Workers every single night. By seeing the whole Chorley community come together on Saturday the Youth Zone and its members hope the show of support will push the Magpies to their first league win.

We’re absolutely delighted that Chorley FC recognises the importance of supporting #ChorleysNextGeneration and have chosen to partner with us for this special Inspire, Chorley Youth Zone takeover day!

In the past 12 month’s, Inspire has welcomed through our doors over 70,000 visits from young people across Chorley and surrounding areas and we’re hugely proud of the impacts we’re making, both for young people and the wider community.

With running and delivery costs at Inspire, Chorley Youth Zone costing £1 million each year, our new children’s charity is hugely reliant on generous fundraisers from local businesses and members of the public to support and raise funds for over 90% of our costs. As part of our Chorley FC takeover day we’re calling on the community to unite with Inspire, raise money and help us ensure Chorley’s next generation is in safe handsKaren Hunter (Head of Fundraising, Inspire Chorley Youth Zone)
