The experienced custodian was a trialist during pre-season and adds competition for places while number one Matt Urwin recovers from injury.
I’m really excited to be here and I’m really looking forward to the season starting and being able to help the team. It’s great to be part of a successful squad and the challenge and opportunities playing in the National League bring are very exciting – Joe Anyon
Joe began his career at Blackburn Rovers before making a name for himself with Port Vale. Further Football League stops followed at Lincoln City, Shrewsbury Town, Scunthorpe United & Chesterfield.
With Matty’s injury requiring an operation it was important for us to bring in a goalkeeper that has plenty of experience and is a commanding presence. Joe’s a good character and is a welcome addition to the squad. Along with Danny Eccles, we have good options going into the season – Jamie Vermiglio
