THE MAGPIES returned to the training field last night as preparations for the 2019/20 Vanarama National League season began against the backdrop of a delightful Lancashire evening.

Led by manager Jamie Vermiglio, assistant Andy Preece and player/fitness coach Matt Challoner, the majority of last year’s playoff-winning squad were put through their paces, along with a smattering of trialists.

To coincide with what is essentially the beginning of the new season, we’ve returned to YouTube so all our 2019/20 National League campaign can be visually documented in one place.

Part one of Jamie’s first interview of the new season focuses on pre-season preparations and what lies ahead going into August and beyond..

In part two, the gaffer talks about the aftermath of our playoff final victory, the hunt for new players and why the fans should be excited about the start of the new season..
