PRE-SEASON training is well underway and July’s pre-season schedule has begun. Hopefully everyone enjoyed their short break and is raring to go for 2019/20.
All the club’s pre-season moves will appear in this space along with details of each and every friendly ahead of the opening round of Vanarama National League fixtures on Saturday, August 3.

Tuesday, July 2
Euxton Villa (a) 4-1
Pre-season began with the traditional opener at the Jim Fowler Memorial Ground as a mixed Chorley side beat West Lancashire League neighbours Villa 4-1 in front of over 300 supporters. Two trialists were on the mark for The Magpies, as well as under-21 players Josh Agbozo & Sope Awe.
Saturday, July 6
Charnock Richard (a) 2-1
An own goal and trialist (4) strikes were enough to see off the challenge of the Greens at Mossie Park as more first teamers got involved in the action alongside more trialists and under-21 squad members.
Tuesday, July 9
Atherton Collieries (a) 2-0
Josh O’Keefe and trialist (7) were on target for Chorley as a mixture of first teamers and trialists saw off the challenge of the NPL Premier Division’s new boys.
Saturday, July 13
Longridge Town (a) 4-0
The vast majority of first team players were in action in the Lancashire countryside, with last season’s top scorer Marcus Carver getting his eye in ahead of the new season by scoring a first half brace.
Tuesday, July 16
Preston North End (h) – 0-2
Chorley put up a strong showing for the first 55 minutes against North End’s strong first team squad before conceding twice in the final 30 minutes to Alan Browne and Graham Burke.
Saturday, July 20
Wigan Athletic under-23s (h) – 0-3
Olly Crankshaw (2) and Charlie Jolley were on target for the Latics who took the spoils in a low key contest at Victory Park.
Tuesday, July 23
Everton XI (h) – 0-2
The penultimate friendly of July saw an predominately under-23 side from the Premier League giants (Matt Pennington & Mo Besic notwithstanding) win 2-0 through an own goal by Trialist (1) and a Manasse Mampala header.

FC United (h) – £7.50 adults, £5 12-16s, FREE under-12s
Old foes collide in our final warm-up game before the Vanarama National League campaign kicks off on Saturday, August 3. The Red Rebels head to Victory Park with their Northern Premier League season still a couple of weeks away.
If you want to catch the CFC Women’s first team in action over pre-season Andy Ramskill’s side are playing six away matches across consecutive Sundays ahead of the 2019/20 FA Women’s National League campaign..
