Andy Teague & Alex Newby have been named in the official Vanarama National League North ‘Team of the Season.’
Both players enjoyed excellent seasons as The Magpies posted NLN club records in points, wins and goals scored. Andy has racked up another 47 games, pushing his club total all the closer to 400. Despite picking up an injury in the autumn Alex rebound spectacularly to record 37 games & 12 goals in his first full season in tier six.
It’s always nice to receive recognition like this having played through another hard but enjoyable season and it’s great for Alex too, as he’s had a really good season. But this has to go to all our teammates and the coaching staff as well. Without them we wouldn’t have been able to perform the way we did for the majority of the season – Andy Teague
I’ve really enjoyed my first full season at this level and to be named in the team of the year is a nice achievement. It’s great for the Club that Teaguey has also been selected, but I see this as an award for all the hard work the entire first team squad and coaches have put in over the last year to make this season one to remember. It’s testament to the team’s success this season that any of the lads could’ve been included – Alex Newby
