Tomorrow evening Chorley FC are holding a Peter Watson Tribute Night at Victory Park and event sponsors Frederick’s have produced a special ice cream to mark the occasion.

Aptly named ‘Chorley Legend’ the new flavour will be handed out for guests to try as the Club celebrates Peter’s career with some of his former teammates from 1958-1966. Confirmed attendees include the man himself Peter Watson and his family, Eddie Birchall, Gordon Griffith, Jim Farrington, Peter Vipham, John Robinson, Ron Walton, Derrek Plumb & Ruth Fairclough (wife of former manager Cyril Fairclough).

We’d like to thank Frederick’s for supporting this prestigious event. I thought it would be a great idea to acknowledge Peter’s time at the Club with ice cream and thankfully our long-standing sponsors agreed. The stats from his career with The Magpies are unbelievable and it’ll be wonderful to celebrate a footballer, gentleman and legend; culminating with a special unveiling on the nightJosh Vosper (Commercial Manager, Chorley FC)

I was delighted when Josh approached us to create a unique ice cream to celebrate Peter Watson’s career at Victory Park. Our strong links with the Club this year have continued to develop through many activities from our sponsorship, as we are passionate members of the Magpie Family. We’d also like to wish Jamie and the lad’s good luck for this Sunday’s playoff final. The whole town are behind youDonna Townson (Managing Director, Frederick’s)

If you’d like to sample the ice cream for yourself, ‘Chorley Legend’ will be available at Massa’s Dessert-Café-Bar from Friday, May 10 through Sunday, May 19, with the shop open late on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays. Season ticket holders receive a discount when showing their 2018/19 books; one scoop for £1.50 or two scoops for £2.50.
