The Club’s Community Foundation is inviting teams from across the county to take part in their Festival of Football.
The focus of the festival, coming Saturday, May 25 to Victory Park (10am), is Community Football. Teams participating will come from Walking Football and Social Inclusion leagues across the region, with the aim of showing football is accessible to everyone regardless of age, ability or background.
Both Social Inclusion leagues and Walking Football tournaments are a great way to get out of the house, get active and meet new people. Hosting events like this allows us to offer our support to the amazing work that these leagues are doing, but also use the draw of Chorley Football Club to introduce more people to the concepts and increase involvement – Darren Jenkinson (Chair, CFC Community Foundation)
Social Inclusion teams will consist of five starters and Walking Football team six starters, with both tournaments run alongside each other. The group stages will play out during the morning ahead of the knockout rounds in the afternoon as the Thirsty Magpie Beer Festival gets in full swing in the background. Entry is just £30 per team, there will be medals for the winners and runners-up and trophies for the winning teams.
For more information and to register email firstname.lastname@example.org. Entry slots will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and team places will be confirmed upon receipt of payment.
