Since 1969 Chorley FC has given an award to the Player of the Year, with skipper Andy Teague scooping the prize last season.
Until recently the trophy was in need of urgent repair, so in conjunction with the CFC Supporters Trust the Club are delighted to see the award back to its former glory, courtesy of Millingtons Fishing Tackle & Trophies.
The prestigious award has been given to many notable players in the past, including Mick Wearmouth, Trevor Holmes, Graham Barrow and James Dean. Manager Jamie Vermiglio also collected the accolade twice, following the 2003/04 and 2004/05 campaigns.
The work Matt Shaw at Millingtons has done over the past couple of months has been absolutely fantastic and we can’t wait to present the newly restored trophy to the 2018/19 Player of the Year after the Bradford (Park Avenue) game. I encourage all fans to cast their vote as soon as possible and perhaps we’ll see a new name on the trophy this year to join some of the Chorley FC greats who are already immortalised on there – Dave Tindall (Chair, CFC Supporters Trust)
I was delighted to help Chorley FC and restore the trophy to its former glory. As a local business, it’s great to work so closely with the Club on numerous projects and we really do love The Magpies. For those interested we also stock an extensive range of trophies for all sports – Matt Shaw (Owner, Millingtons Fishing Tackle & Trophies
