The Club’s Community Foundation FREE schools football programme continues to visit schools around the local area offering both curricular and extra curricular coaching sessions.
Headed up by Chorley assistant manager and UEFA Pro Licence coach Andy Preece, with help from first team regulars Courtney Meppen-Walter, Alex Newby & Elliot Newby and community coach Dan Green, the programme aims to give youngsters a fun way to improve their football skills.
We’ve thoroughly enjoyed going into so many schools and coaching hundreds of local youngsters. The programme is a great way to get kids involved with football. We’ve had great feedback from the schools about our sessions and we hope, with the help of the National League Trust, to carry on offering the programme and getting even more young people involved – Andy Preece
So far Shaftesbury, Duke Street, Euxton St Mary’s, Euxton Primrose Hill, Coppull, Westmorland, St James, Manor Road, St Laurence, Astley Road, Parklands, Sacred Heart, Exuton C of E, Balshaw & Highfield have received visits from The Magpies, that’s over 50 percent of schools in the Chorley area, and more are planned as we head into the summer term.
