The Chorley FC dugouts have now been transformed thanks to Inspire Youth Zone supporter David Birtill, who has recently donated the advertisement hoardings at Victory Park.

Birtill, a supporter of Chorley FC for over 60 years, has expressed his support for the Youth Zone since it’s opening in May 2018 and decided to pair his passion for changing the lives of young people in Chorley with his love for the Magpies. A regular supporter who made his mark through the prowess in journalism and is still a respected and active member of the Association of Golf Writers.

I can remember where I sat the first time I came to Victory Park – positioned in the main stand using a wooden surface at the front to lean on and write out my match report. I’m so pleased to be able to unveil these hoardings and my support of Inspire Youth Zone. The centre is a superb building with so much to do and so much room for development in young people – David Birtill

Printed by local business and sponsors Poppy Signs, the installation was organised by Commercial Manager Josh Vosper, who is delighted with the continued affiliation with Inspire and David.

Having worked with Inspire to deliver football sessions at the Youth Zone in the past, our continued partnership is something we value highly. David is a familiar face at Chorley FC and one of our most valued and longest standing supporters.

It’s fantastic and inspiring to see his passion towards the future youth of Chorley through his generous donation. As a Club, we want to create these close bonds and help encourage young people take up football. The work they do on Chapel Street is second to none, with a diverse range of other sports including indoor climbing, tennis and boxing – Josh Vosper
