Chorley FC are delighted to announce the permanent capture of first choice ‘keeper Matt Urwin through to the end of the 2019/20 season.
An agreement has been reached with Fleetwood Town over the signing of the 25-year-old stopper, who’s made 80 appearances for The Magpies over 18 months and two loan spells, including 26 this season.
I have never played with a better group of lads or enjoyed my football this much so it was an absolute no-brainer to sign permanently. Fleetwood gave me a chance coming back from non-league and I’ll always be thankful to them for that, it just didn’t quite work out the way I wanted. Now I’m looking forward to the rest of the season and beyond. I think it would be a fantastic achievement to win this league and we just have to remain confident, keep doing what we’re doing and hopefully come the end of the season that will be enough – Matt Urwin
I’m delighted we’ve been able to sign Matt on a permanent basis. He has a good attitude, fits into our mould in terms of how determined, how loyal he is and how he has bought into the team spirit. The goals against tally is a lot to do with the team and he has certainly contributed to that with some fantastic goalkeeping – Jamie Vermiglio
Matt’s first game as a permanent player at Chorley FC is this Saturday when we host Nuneaton Borough in the Vanarama National League North (3pm).
