The Magpies banished their recent league struggles with a clinical display against third placed Kidderminster at Aggborough.
Harriers made two changes to the side that drew at Nuneaton last Saturday with Russ Penn & Declan Weeks coming in.
Chorley brought in Stephen Jordan, Jake Cottrell & Josh Wilson for Scott Leather, Kieran Glynn & Louis Almond.
Kidderminster: Hall, Vaughan, Taylor (Austin, 74’), O’Connor (c) (Johnson, 64’), Horsfall, Penn, Weeks (Richards, 64’), Daniels, Chambers, Bradley, Williams. Subs not used: Baxendale, Wagner.
Chorley: Urwin, Challoner, Blakeman, Teague (c), Meppen-Walter, Jordan, Cottrell, O’Keefe (Glynn, 85’), Carver, Wilson (Almond, 75’), E.Newby (Whitham, 72’). Subs not used: A.Newby, Anson.
An edgy first half saw little in the way of goalmouth action until Josh Wilson gambled on a Marcus Carver flick-on to beat Brandon Hall from just inside the box. Harriers controlled possession until that moment, and looked threatening to a point, without ever worrying Matt Urwin in the Chorley goal.
The second goal in injury time at the end of the half was a beauty. Andy Teague & Matt Challoner scrapped it out on the right flank to free the ball for Elliot Newby, who curled a wonderful shot past Hall.
The only other incident of note was a tackle on Adam Blakeman by Dan Bradley that led to a fracas and bookings for both players.
Ashley Chambers missed a golden chance to drag the hosts back into the game right after the break, but his free head in the box went out for a throw in.
Harriers kept on with their heavy possession-based style, but after a mistake in defence Chorley went three up. Wilson pounced on a loose pass before playing in Jake Cottrell, and the midfielder returned the favour leaving Chorley’s number 10 with an easy finish.
Number four arrived eight minutes later when Wilson was denied a hat trick by a terrific Hall save, only for Teague to stab home from an inch out (Ed: Officially the goal has been given to Josh Wilson, completing his hat trick).
And that was that!!!

We wanted to win and needed to win today and I thought we were superb. We were clinical in front of goal and to get a result like this at a place like this is outstanding – Jamie Vermiglio
