Under 21’s Romp To Victory Against Brig

The young development squad romped to victory this evening with a 6-2  success over local rivals Bamber Bridge at The Chorley Group Victory Park Stadium.

The two sides were only separated at kick-off at the top of the league on goal difference, and it was the visitors who got off to a good start when ex-Magpie Simon Wiles put the visitors ahead in the 12th minute.

However, debutant Harry Pratt levelled the score on 32 minutes and 4 minutes later the young Magpies were in front thanks to a Jordan Southworth effort.

Just before the break Jordan Darr added a third as the hosts edged clear.

Brig pulled a goal back on 64 minutes but Darr added his second 10 minutes later to restore the two goal cushion.

Seven minutes from time Luke Bennett added a fifth for Dave Chadwick’s team and Nathan Young completed the scoring in the final minute with the match ending Chorley 6, Bamber Bridge 2.

Starting XI: Kyle Haslam, Wesley Nelson, Danny Simm, Ryan Farnworth, Andy Teague, George Taberner, Paul Jarvis, James Charlson, Harry Platt, Jordan Southworth, Jordan Darr

Subs: Alex Gree, Callum Darcy, Connor Smith, Luke Bennett, Nathan Young
