REPORT | Chorley 3 AFC Telford Utd 2

The Magpies continued their impressive home form with a gutsy 3-2 victory against away day specialists AFC Telford United at the Chorley Group Victory Park Stadium.

Despite Josh Wilson and Marcus Carver giving the home side a commanding lead, Jason Walker's missed penalty and Adam Anson's red card gave Telford all the encouragement they needed to get back into the game. Luckily for Chorley Wilson's vision and Carver's pace proved the difference.

Matt Jansen made three changes from the side that dispatched Stalybridge Celtic from the FA Cup last week as Scott Leather, Jason Walker and Josh O'Keefe came in for Stephen Jordan, Dale Whitham and Jake Cottrell. The visitors, who also tasted cup success last weekend, replaced Henry Cowans and Louis McCrory with John Marsden and Jordan Lussey.

In a dominant first half the home side took the lead on 10 minutes when Wilson, playing in a midfield role against his former club, bagged his fifth of the season with a low strike from 20 yards.

The lead was doubled on 32 minutes when Josh O'Keefe's industry was rewarded as he robbed the defender on the byline before feeding Carver who swept home from close range.

Despite Walker's missed penalty, following a foul on Carver in the box, all was good with the first half display, but events changed rapidly in the first 11 minutes of the second half.

First Adam Anson dallied on the ball allowing Dwyer through on goal and the defender's subsequent challenge led to a penalty and red card. Dinanga sent Urwin the wrong way from the spot, and four minutes later the lively number nine added his second. Elliot Newby produced the pinpoint corner for Dinanga to head home his fifth of the campaign.

The tide appeared to have turned in the away side's favour, however, Wilson and Carver had other ideas. Followng a sustained period of pressure from Telford Wilson turned the tables with a delightful through ball from deep which Carver sprinted on to before finishing coolly under the onrushing Singh.
