Chorley’s recent pre-season form has seen them control game but not convert their chances; well tonight that certainly wasn’t the case as a youthful Bolton Wanderers XI found themselves on the end of a hammering.
Chorley raced into a three goal lead with a little over quarter of an hour on the clock. Andy Teague (11 minutes) slammed a header in off the bar, Josh O’Keefe (13) drove in from range and Marcus Carver (16) slotted in from the eight yards as the Magpies looked like scoring every time they went forward.
Just before the interval Dale Whitham made it four from close range to put the final touch on a superb opening 45 minutes.
The second period started with a goal, but this time to the visitors. Alexander Samizadeh capitalised in Teague going down injured to race clear and slot beyond Sam Ashton, but it was all Bolton offered throughout what was a disappointing performance from the young Trotters.
With nine minutes remaining Scott Leather nodded in an unstoppable header to make it five and three minute later Sefton Gonzales finished the scoring, sliding in from close range.
