The Magpies earned a hard fought point against league leaders Nuneaton Town at the A1 Gas Force Arena writes Jack Wynne.
Andy Teague headed the Magpies in front but their lead lasted just two minutes as Aaron Williams’ diverted Callum Chettle’s free-kick past Sam Ashton at the other end.
With just a quarter of an hour until the interval, Darren Stephenson fired the Magpies in front once more, his shot near the by-line flying straight past Jordan Smith.
79 minutes played, Nuneaton were back on level terms, William’s low shot inside the box flying straight past Ashton.
Three minutes played, Elliot Whitehouse’s shot from distance was always rising and failed to test Sam Ashton.
Teague headed the visitors in front inside eight minutes, despite Town’s best attempts to block the ball on the line.
Just over two minutes later, Williams headed in at the other end to bring both sides level following Chettle’s free kick.
Williams almost capitalized on a lapse in communication between Adam Roscoe and Teague as he looked to be one on one with Ashton, but the Chorley keeper snuffed out the threat.
Around the half hour mark, Stephenson restored Chorley’s lead, firing a powerful shot past Smith inside the box from a tight angle.
Three minutes later, Dale Whitham passed up a great opportunity to put further distance between the two sides, diverting Stephenson’s cross straight over the bar from inside the box.
At the other end, Williams’ looped header failed to test Ashton, who gathered the ball ahead of the onrushing Duffy.
Into the second half, Chettle’s free kick from the edge of the area flew over the bar.
54 minutes played, James Dean’s cross fell into the path of Jake Cottrell who unleashed an arrowing shot which hit the bar.
Just after the hour, Stephenson played the ball into Dean who tried a shot from inside the box but it was easy pickings for Smith.
77 minutes played, substitute Tshimanga Kabonga diverted Chettle’s free kick from near the left hand touchline towards the goal but it lacked the power to trouble Ashton.
With 11 minutes of normal time remaining, Williams fired the hosts level again, his low shot from inside the box nestling into the bottom corner.
