The Magpies secured three points with three goals against Corby Town in their first home game of 2016 at Victory Park writes Jack Wynne.
Chorley went in front after Josh Hine diverted Andy Bond’s free kick into the back of the net.
Hine doubled his tally in the 33rd minute, powering the ball past a helpless Sam Donkin after Darren Stephenson’s low cross.
Adam Roscoe put some daylight between the two sides, poking Bond’s corner past Donkin just before half time.
Four minutes played, Dale Whitham headed Bond’s corner kick back across goal before James Dean missed the target with his header.
A minute later, Captain Andy Teague was replaced by Kieran Charnock after colliding with Donkin following a free kick.
Dean spurned another opportunity shortly after, latching onto Stephenson’s cross and striking the ball first time straight at Donkin.
Hine headed the Mapgies in front with just under twenty minutes gone, latching onto Bond’s free kick after Stephenson had been brought down by Kalern Thomas.
Dean looked to test Donkin from distance, his long range effort landing straight into the hands of the Corby Town goalkeeper.
Mark Ross headed the ball into the path of Hine who had another chance to double his tally, firing low and forcing a good save from Donkin at his near post.
Dale Whitham looked to try his luck from the edge of the box, picking up Bond’s corner and sending a powerful effort wide.
Just after the half hour mark, Hine extended Chorley’s lead, hitting an unstoppable shot from inside the box into the roof of the net following Stephenson’s low cross.
At the other end, Greg Mills offered no real test for Sam Ashton, sending his free kick over the bar from outside the box.
Three minutes before the interval, Roscoe ensured Chorley had a comfortable lead to take into the second half, helping Bond’s corner past Donkin from inside the box.
Into the second half, Cleveland Taylor’s free kick from outside the box was directed straight at Ashton.
59 minutes played, Roscoe headed the ball over the bar following Hine’s long throw-in.
A few minutes later, Corby posed a rare test for Ashton, the Chorley keeper pushing Mills’ curling effort from outside the box away from goal.
The visitors were reduced to ten men in the 69th minute, Ben Milnes being shown a second yellow card for arriving late with a challenge on Roscoe.
Will Beesley looked to mark his Chorley debut with a goal, skipping past Taylor but his effort from outside the box was high and wide of the target.
78 minutes played, Roscoe looked to force a save from Donkin, but his shot was too wide of the goal to worry the Corby keeper.
Mills tried to catch Ashton out lobbing the ball from outside the box but the Chorley keeper gathered the ball easily.
With two minutes of normal time remaining, Donkin did well to deny Hine, pushing his arrowing shot from inside the box past the near post.
