Chorley 0-0 Colwyn Bay 06/12/2014

Saturday December 6th, 3pm

When the highlights of the 2014/15 season are compiled, yesterday’s clash certainly won’t make the short list or even the long list at either Chorley or Colwyn Bay as the two sides battled out a stale encounter on the cold afternoon at The Chorley Group Victory Park Stadium.

Chorley started well in the opening encounters, but failed to test visiting keeper Liam Sharpe and this became the pattern for the remainder of the game from a home perspective – plenty of position, a few opportunities but little precision in front of goal.

Meanwhile despite be behind on the possession count Colwyn Bay forged the better chances of the game with two goal line clearances being required to keep the Welshmen out.

A point all round was a fair outcome from a game that will live short in the memory of the 1,004 who avoided Christmas shopping duties to attend!

Starting XI: Sam Ashton, Mark Ross, Adam Mather, Andy Teague, Chris Doyle, Jake Cottrell, Jack Lynch, Dale Whitham, James Dean, Chris Simm, Darren Stephenson

Subs: Josh Hine (Simm, 66), Kyle Jacobs, Paul Jarvis (Lynch, 66), Adam Roscoe, Aaron Grundy

Att: 1,004 Man of the Match:  Sam Ashton, returned to the side and made saves to keep Colwyn at Bay!
