FIVE out of five, that’s the stat the Magpies recorded last night following their comfortable 1-0 win over Nantwich Town.

Despite the cold weather, Chorley didn’t freeze and secured another vital win as their promotion aspirations continue to grow with recent form.

Andy Teague netted the winner five minutes before the break, but in truth Chorley should have been streets ahead by then having dominated the opening half.

After the interval the home side came into the game more, but Jack Cudworth was in excellent form when called into action, while at the other end Tom Baker had the best of several chances to extended the lead, rattling the wood work with a rasping free-kick.

Next up for the Magpies is the trek to North Yorkshire on Saturday to face Whitby Town, then Kendal visit Victory Park on Easter Mondaym kick-off 3pm.
