Chorley 5-0 Kendal Town - 01/04/2013

Monday April 1st, 3pm
Easter Monday

CHORLEY returned to winning ways after Saturday's draw at Whitby with a thumping five-nil hammering against struggling Kendal Town.

Kendal restricted to a single shot on goal in the entire 90 minutes, a free-kick that Jack Cudworth comfortably  touched over the bar with his only notable touch on the ball all day.  At the other end Adlington resident Craig Dootson had a far busier afternoon preventing the Kendal Town goal against spinning into meltdown.

It took just three minutes for Chorley to hit the next, and from there on in it was only a matter of how many after Adam Roscoe touched home from close range following a Tom Baker corner.

Just before the quarter hour mark it was two.  Paul Jarvis burst through from midfield.  Advancing to the edge of the area he squared to Cameron Darkwah who finished from even closer range than Roscoe!

Ten minutes before the break Cudworth pulled off his only save of the game, acrobatically tipping over a 20 yard Kendal free-kick.

Chorley added to their lead quicker in the second half than they did in the first with Dale Whitham heading home an Andy Russell centre 52 seconds into the half.

Midfield maestro Tom Baker netted the goal of the game, placing the ball into the bottom corner on 77 minutes from 25 yards after neat build-up play despite Dootson’s best efforts.

The fifth and final goal arrive in the final minute when substitutes Tom Walker and Darren Stephenson combined, Walker crossing and Stephenson glancing the ball beyond Dootson’s reach.

Next Saturday Chorley entertain Stafford Rangers at Victory Park, kick-off 3pm.
