Chorley 1-1 Worksop Town - 03/11/2012

Saturday November 3rd, 3pm

THE Magpies and The Tigers had to settle for a share of the spoils after this evenly contested match.

Coming into the game with four wins on the bounce, including a 8-1 thumping of Blyth Spartans in mid-week, Worksop must have fancied their chances, whereas Chorley were fresh from a single goal defeat and looking forward to being at home for the first time in four games.

The goals came within three minutes of each over midway through the first half.  Andy Teague putting the Magpies ahead before Craig King levelled.

Teagues first goal of the campaign was a team effort.  A Kirk Millar flick-on from a free-kick found Andy Russell in the box.  The centre back then showed great control to turn a defender before deftly crossing to give Teague a simple tap in.

Worksop’s goal on the other hand was an individual effort with King arrowing the ball into the top corner give Jack Cudworth and his defence no chance.

Both sides had chances to add to the score, with Chorley pressing and Worksop responding on the break, but neither Cudworth nor veteran keeper Paul Bastock were beaten in the remaining 70 minutes of the game.

Chorley XI: Jack Cudworth, Ashley Parillon, Dave Mellor, Andy Teague, Andy Russell, Dale Whitham, Kirk Millar, Steve Flitcroft, Adam Roscoe, Proya Ahmadi, John Cunliffe
